Welcome to black bmw, a website dedicated to the rebuild and restoration process of my 1981 E21 323i John Player Special.

The E21 3 series always generates interest within the greater community with its sharp styling, aggressive front and brilliant engine note, it never ceases to draw inquiring minds in. The striking black and gold of the John Player Special cars are no exception.

Throughout these pages you will find all sorts of information detailing the entire process from the ground up, a build spec of sorts with each section filled with detailed information and images for you to enjoy.

As the build progresses and the site starts registering some hits, I would like to establish a 3 series John Player Special registry, a place for car owners to share a little bit of info about their cars, along with an index allowing us to see just how many cars are still out in the wild, turning it into a hub for all things E21 John Player Special.
