With the added power of the motor, something I'd like to improve on is the braking ability of the E21. I looked at doing the Volvo - Girling 4 piston caliper swap, but in the past I've found short comings in this swap when on the track, mainly due to retaining the stock rotor. In my mind, there was no discussion on who I was going to source the kit from, Lee from massive brakes being the only choice.

Lee produces a big brake kit for the E21 utilising wilwood rotors and superlite forged 4 piston calipers, coupled with his own manufactured hats, brackets and other associated components. The rotors utilised are a massive 300x32mm heavy duty rotor which will take all the abuse you can throw at it.

Rotor hats retain the stock hubcentric design of the original hubs, the rear is recessed to allow it to slide up over the axle then secured in place with a screw as per original fitment rotors.

The kit comes coupled with stainless steel brackets allowing you to bolt up the calipers to the standard E21 stub axles.

High tensile hardware and brake fittings complete the rest of the kit. Due to their weight I will source the rotors and calipers down here, but lee also offers complete kits incorporating rotors, lines, calipers and pads, basically a complete bolt on kit for less than $1200.
